Long-term Care Insurance

Health care systems today offer many levels of care for those who develop a long-term illness or disability. These services begin with care at home, followed by a range of care facilities including assisted living and convalescent centers, and as a last resort, skilled nursing homes. The availability of long-term care services is present in most communities, and the number and variety of care providers is increasing.

Oftentimes, the basic issue is not the availability of care, but cost. As such care may be needed for many years, long-term care expenses can present a difficult financial situation for individuals and families, and may impact both quality of life and financial security, especially during retirement.
